ABOUT HANNAN GARDEN DESIGN
Before studying landscape design, my educational background was in fine arts and interior design. This combination of studies helped me to develop a unique understanding of the spatial relationships that are so important in today’s smaller residential gardens and gives me the ability, through thoughtful design solutions, to achieve integration between the interior and exterior aspects of your home.
I have been gardening in the Pacific Northwest for 40 years so I understand the horticultural requirements of the plants that thrive in this region. My extensive knowledge of botanicals and passion for unique plants allows me to embellish my gardens with plantings that will provide color, texture, fragrance, and year round interest; low maintenance and drought tolerant plants are often components of my designs.
I am committed to creating outdoor living spaces that will enhance the enjoyment of your garden and compliment the architectural style of your home. I can provide practical or dramatic outdoor lighting to enhance your garden during the evening hours and develop irrigation plans to relieve the necessity of every day care.
Books, art and travel continue to be my inspiration.
