The original walkway to the house meandered from the driveway up to the front porch, giving no direct access to visitors. The site elevated significantly from one side of the property to the other, making it difficult to manage the front lawn and giving the property an unbalanced look from the street.

Stone walls were constructed in levels to add interest and balance to the front garden. Natural stone was used to ground the house and to give the property an established feel that reflects the style of the neighboring houses. The entry stairs are distinctive with lighting, a beveled edge and two landings that make for a less strenuous ascent.
